HOUSTON, Texas, Feb. 6, 2020 -- Microsoft Corp. will showcase Aegex Technologies’ NexVu IoT Solution during a Connected Field Services event for oil and gas customers on Feb. 6, 2020, at the Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) in Houston, Texas. NexVu, a modular, intrinsically safe Internet of Things (IoT) sensor system used to provide greater access to data in hazardous locations, is currently on display at the MTC Houston and is available for demonstration.
The MTC’s showroom, events and expert-led tours deliver an immersive industry experience and deep technical engagement focused on business outcomes. Businesses in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or other industries with hazardous location operations will benefit from touring the MTC to experience the NexVu IoT system running the Microsoft Azure Cloud and its capabilities for collecting, analyzing and reporting real-time operations data and sharing information in hazardous areas via enterprise-grade Windows 10 aegex10 Intrinsically Safe Tablets. As part of an overall connected field services solution, NexVu and aegex10 tablets enable the collection, distribution and analysis of contextual data that help organizations gain insights into their operations to improve efficiency, plan predictive maintenance and optimize productivity.
“The display at the MTC shows how devices like Aegex intrinsically safe tablets and NexVu IoT sensor arrays are interoperable and fully integrated with industry-leading solutions from Microsoft, Avanade, OSIsoft and Nokia. Working together on integrated solutions centered around mobile workers and complex hazardous operations in process industries, we are excited how this cooperation will continue to impact the digital transformation of the Oil & Gas industry,” said Aegex CEO Thomas P. Ventulett.
The Aegex installation at the MTC Houston features NexVu sensors collecting, visualizing and analyzing live data using Microsoft’s Power BI. The NexVu system in the display is fully integrated into OSIsoft’s PI System, the industry’s leading process information system. The Nokia Integrated Operations Center application, running on an aegex10 tablet, provides a unified view of applications, devices, sensors and alarms to monitor entire asset-intensive industry operations. The installation will remain operational over the coming months, and interested parties may request a demonstration and tour.
