New Location to Focus on Windows 10 Industrial Tablets and Entrepreneurship Atlanta, Ga. (Dec. 28, 2015) – Aegex Technologies LLC is to open its world headquarters in the same facility as the new Microsoft Innovation Center in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, USA. In the new location, Aegex will be able to work more directly with Microsoft to further its mission of engaging entrepreneurs and students in technology innovation, especially in the mobility solutions space. Aegex is the developer of the Aegex10 Intrinsically Safe Tablet, the first to bring Microsoft Windows 10 capabilities into industries such as oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical and others that operate highly explosive environments, where only specially certified mobile devices are permitted. Aegex’s 10.1-inch tablet is the first Windows 10 device to be globally certified intrinsically safe, or incapable of igniting an explosion, for use in hazardous locations worldwide, where high concentrations of flammable gases, vapors or dusts are likely to occur in normal operation. Aegex’s new headquarters will be located in the Flatiron Building where the Microsoft Innovation Center is housed. The new office space will provide Aegex with access to Microsoft skills training, mentors and tools for sharing ideas and innovation. The center is the second in the United States and one of more than 100 such centers worldwide that are partnerships among Microsoft, local governments, universities and industry to develop and implement new technologies. With this move, Aegex aims to support the center’s goal to engage young entrepreneurs in technology development. “After a great deal of consideration, we are proud to locate adjacent to the Microsoft Innovation Center to continue to build on our partnership and commitment to the Microsoft platform,” said Aegex CEO Thomas Ventulett. “With a great location next to Georgia State and Georgia Tech, we plan to open our doors to young entrepreneurs who are interested in mobile device technology. Working hand-in-hand with Microsoft and budding innovators will allow Aegex to offer the most innovative mobile communications solutions for our customers in target markets.” In addition to running Windows 10 enterprise applications such as Microsoft Azure, Office and Outlook, Aegex customers can select task-specific applications and accessories from the Aegex portfolio to tailor the tablets for their particular workforce needs. With a uniform platform and Intel architecture, Aegex tablets synchronize with an organization’s Internet of Things to allow users to transmit real-time data from within the most hazardous zones of their operations. Such cloud-based connectivity improves efficiency and lowers risk, resulting in decreased downtime and optimized operations. Aegex tablets are certified for Class 1 Division 1 explosive areas of hazardous locations in the United States. The devices are also certified for ATEX and IECEx Zone 1 areas internationally throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. Other Microsoft Innovation Centers are located in Miami, Armenia, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Botswana, Chile, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey and Vietnam.
