Houston, Tex., USA (September 26, 2019) – Aegex Technologies plans to exhibit its intrinsically safe, wireless NexVu IoT Solution and aegex10 Intrinsically Safe Tablet with Tampnet in Stand 102 during OilComm 2019, October 2-3, in Houston.
Tampnet, which operates the largest offshore high-capacity network in the world, enables Aegex NexVu sensors and tablets with narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) connectivity, even in the remotest of offshore locations. NB-IoT networks consume minimal power, are cost-effective, provide wide global reach, and connect sensors directly to base stations rather than relying on gateways.

Monitoring those contextual factors can give organizations better insight into process safety and asset integrity and help plan for predictive maintenance efforts to improve efficiency and productivity. Via Tampnet’s narrowband network, NexVu sensor data about offshore operations can be shared in near real time with onshore management as well as among offshore personnel via aegex10 Intrinsically Safe Tablets. Aegex10 tablets are enterprise Windows tablets certified for ATEX/IECEx Zone 1 and Class I, II, III Division 1 hazardous locations. Purpose-built for hazardous environments, they enable data management and communications for personnel working in offshore oil and gas or other highly regulated industries.
